Donor Drive Parts ("we", "us", "our") operates the online store at donordriveparts.com.au. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and disclose your personal information when you visit our store, buy from us or contact us. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and, where they apply to you, other privacy laws in your country.

Personal information we collect

  • Contact and order details: your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address, and the items you order.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by Shopify Payments and other payment providers shown at checkout (for example PayPal). We do not store full card numbers.
  • Account information: if you create a customer account, your login details and order history.
  • Communications: messages you send us, for example by email to help@donordriveparts.com.au or through our contact form, including photos you send with a warranty or replacement claim.
  • Device and usage information: your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, how you reached our site, and similar information collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use your personal information

  • To process and ship orders, take payment, send order and shipping updates, and handle replacement claims.
  • To answer your questions and provide customer support.
  • To prevent fraud and keep our store secure.
  • To understand how our store is used and improve it.
  • To send marketing emails, only if you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To comply with our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records.

Cookies and analytics

Our store uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the store working (for example your cart and checkout), to remember your preferences and to understand how visitors use the site. We use Shopify's analytics and Google Analytics (measurement ID G-VQRDDRQZ90) to measure traffic and sales. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information such as pages visited and general location; you can learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Where required, our cookie banner lets you choose which non-essential cookies are used. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the store may not work properly.

Sales channels and advertising partners

We list our products on Google (Google Shopping and YouTube) and Facebook/Instagram through Shopify's sales channels. These services may use pixels, cookies or similar tools to measure visits and purchases that come from their platforms and to show relevant listings. Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies: Google and Meta.

Who we share personal information with

  • Shopify, which hosts our store and processes orders on our behalf (Shopify Privacy Policy).
  • Payment processors, to take and refund payments.
  • Shipping and customs providers such as Australia Post, to deliver your order and prepare customs paperwork for international shipments.
  • Analytics and sales-channel providers described above.
  • Professional advisers and authorities, where needed to comply with the law, protect our rights or prevent fraud.

We do not sell your personal information.

Overseas disclosure

Some of the service providers above (for example Shopify, Google and Meta) store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States, Canada and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers protect your information.

Keeping your information secure and how long we keep it

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Checkout pages are encrypted. We keep order records for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet tax, accounting and legal requirements, and then delete or de-identify them.

Your rights

You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, ask us to delete it (subject to legal requirements), or opt out of marketing. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under the GDPR, or California), you may have additional rights. To make a request, email help@donordriveparts.com.au. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first at help@donordriveparts.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or your local data protection authority.

Children

Our store is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
