Refund policy
Refund & Replacement Policy
Donor Drive Parts sells used, tested hard drive PCBs, donor drives and SSDs. Every part is tested before it is shipped, and the part pictured is the exact part you receive.
Donor drives and parts
Our donor drives and parts are old, used items sold for data recovery spare parts only. They are not intended for use as working drives. We do not accept change-of-mind returns or give refunds if you order the wrong part. This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
No change-of-mind returns
We do not offer refunds or exchanges if you change your mind, or if you ordered the wrong part. Please check the board number, firmware and other details carefully before you buy. If you are not sure a part is compatible, email us before ordering.
Faulty on arrival: we send a replacement
If a part does not work when it arrives, we will send you an equivalent working replacement.
- Claim window: tell us within 14 days of delivery.
- How to claim: email help@donordriveparts.com.au with your order number, a short description of the fault and clear photos of the part (both sides, and the label/board number).
- No need to send the part back: once we approve your claim, we ship a new replacement at no cost to you.
- If no replacement is in stock: we will give you a full refund of the price you paid for the part.
What is not covered
- Physical damage after delivery (for example cracked boards, burnt or missing components, bent pins, liquid damage).
- Parts used without transferring the original ROM/firmware chip where the drive requires it (most modern drives do).
- The wrong part ordered, or a part that is not compatible with your drive.
- Parts showing signs of tampering, rework or soldering that we did not do, or with our label/stock number removed.
- Damage to your drive or loss of data. A PCB replacement does not fix every drive fault (for example head, motor or firmware problems).
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in this policy limits those rights. If a part has a major failure, you may be entitled to a replacement or refund, and to compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If you are outside Australia, your local consumer laws may also give you rights that this policy does not limit.
